Colmore Food Festival confirms return after four-year hiatus

A popular food festival held in the heart of Birmingham's business district will return next year after a four-year hiatus.

Colmore Food Festival 2023 will also be moving to a brand new home as it relocates from Victoria Square to a new site in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral.

The tenth iteration of the free event, which is organised by Colmore Business Improvement District, will again host a wide variety of food and drinks stands run by venues based within the city's business quarter.

It will be the first food festival since 2019, after the 2020 and 2021 editions had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic, while this year's event was not held because of the Commonwealth Games.

Around 30,000 people attend the event every year, with next year's festival being held on Friday July 21 and Saturday July 22.

Alex Tross, deputy chairman of Colmore BID, said: "'We are so excited to announce the return of the Colmore Food Festival, particularly with this year being the tenth anniversary of the BID delivering the event.

"Birmingham's food scene has an impressive history and still to this day has so much to offer. This event showcases exactly that while simultaneously supporting the local businesses in the Colmore Business District."
