Colm Collins has been confirmed as Clare senior football manager for another year.
Having been ratified for what will be a 10th season in 2023, Collins is now the longest serving manager in a single job at senior level in either code following Brian Cody’s retirement in July.
Just behind him is Armagh’s Kieran McGeeney, who is in situ for a ninth campaign next year, followed by Limerick hurling boss John Kiely, who has completed six seasons at the helm.

However, all have considerable ground still to make up on Mickey Harte, who has completed 20 consecutive seasons at senior level combined between Tyrone and Louth, who he is due to remain with until 2025 as things stand.
Although he hasn’t claimed any major silverware, Collins has been hugely successful with the Banner. Having inherited a team in Division Four from his predecessor Mick O’Dwyer, he quickly took them to Division Two, in which they will play for a seventh consecutive season next year.
He has also taken Clare to two All-Ireland quarter-finals, in 2016 and again this year, when they lost to Ulster champions Derry.
Elsewhere, Clare have ratified Michael Neylon as under-20 football manager for another year and Brian O’Connell will also remain in charge of the minor hurlers.
