Colm Basquel's slip of the tongue sent viewers into fits of laughter after he was awarded Player of the Game as Dublin dismantled Mayo in Croke Park.
Basquel scored a stunning 2-02 from play and has been in the form of his life this year and has nailed on a starting spot under Dessie Farrell.
And the Ballyboden forward accidentally said in his post game interview that Dublin have two games left, being presumptuous that they would get past their semi-final test.
Speaking to RTE, he said: "We just went and reset at half-time and said we'd come out in the third quarter and stay on script and the chances were there for us and stayed clinical. It worked out well for us and we're looking forward to a semi-final.
And Basquel was asked about what he has done to improve such a huge amount and a slip of the tongue from the Dublin forward had viewers laughing.
He said: "Listening to teammates and coaches and it's a good run of form and hopefully it keeps going, going into the next two. Or the semi-final please god."
Basquel's father Noel is from Mayo but the Dublin forward said they'll still be on talking terms.
"It's great to play against the relatives and stuff like that but just focused on the game and the football and thankfully it worked out today."
And RTE viewers teased Basquel after his man of the match performance with one saying: "Brilliant interview from Basquel even with the slip of the tongue!"
While another said: "A brilliant performance from Colm Basquel even if he counted his chickens."
Dubin will play Monaghan in the All-Ireland Football semi-final while Kerry take on Derry with them ties set to be played in a fortnight's time.
