Collingwood stars Jordan De Goey and Will Hoskin-Elliott are in doubt for the AFL clash with Gold Coast after falling ill.
The key duo were kept away from Magpies training on Friday as a precaution, with the club hopeful they will recover in time to play at the MCG on Sunday.
"We've had a little bit of gastro go through the place this week," Collingwood coach Craig McRae said.
"A couple of coaches have gone down, now Will and also Jordy have been out today.
"Hopefully in the next 24 hours they will feel better."
De Goey has been in blistering form this season and could have been in Brownlow Medal contention if he had not been suspended for a dangerous tackle.
The explosive midfielder-forward has been restricted to light training in isolation.
"He has done a little bit himself away here," McRae said.
"Everything at the moment is sensitive around illness, when they show signs of anything we keep them out of the place.
"We'll have to wait and see how he is feeling. Not only him, but Will is the same."
Doubt over the availability of De Goey and Hoskin-Elliott comes after Collingwood lost ruckman Brodie Grundy (knee) and versatile tall Nathan Kreuger (shoulder) to long-term injuries.
Mason Cox and untried rookie Aiden Begg have been named in the extended squad for Sunday, with McRae declaring one of the two is likely to play in support of Darcy Cameron.
Grundy's absence means Cameron will spend increased time in the ruck against in-form Gold Coast big man and ex-Magpie Jarrod Witts.
"(Witts) dominated against a younger ruckman (Tom De Koning) against Carlton and really got the game on their terms a few weeks ago," McRae said.
"We've got to get to work. We don't have certain things (Grundy) but we have other opportunities, so it could look a little bit different."
Young Magpies father-son star Nick Daicos had his foot stepped on during the Anzac Day win over Essendon but has been cleared to play against Gold Coast.
