The fascinating thing about mock drafts right now isn’t that the Minnesota Vikings are taking cornerbacks, it’s the diverse skill sets that they bring. Without having a defensive coordinator in place, it’s going to be hard to know which archetype will be preferred.
College Wire’s Patrick Conn released his latest mock draft and has the Vikings selecting Georgia CB Kelee Ringo. Here is what Conn had to say about the Bulldog star.
“The Vikings need to infuse some youth into the position. While Patrick Peterson can still be productive, he is heading into his 13th season. Ringo slipping to Minnesota could happen.”
Adding a cornerback should be a priority and bringing in Ringo would be a swing-for-the-fences type of move.
His traits are off the charts and he is the 97th-best recruit in 247 Sports history. There is risk with Ringo, as he is not the most fluid athlete but the size, speed and ball skills will give him a chance
