Spring ball is creeping closer and closer, which means we can start to look ahead to the 2023 season.
Michigan State is one of only a few schools in the Big Ten that is returning its starting quarterback. Payton Thorne returns as the expected starter in the fall. Thorne is entering his third season as the starting quarterback — although some believe Katin Houser will compete for the starting gig as well.
If Thorne does win the starting job again this fall, he will rank as one of the best Big Ten signal-caller in terms of returning production. But how high on that list is he?
