You see something new every day in college basketball.
The latest bizarre play came from Purdue Fort Wayne’s matchup with Southern Indiana, during which a player blocked a shot… with his shoe!
Fort Wayne star point guard Rasheed Bello lost his shoe during live action, picked it up, and kept defending his man. He then used the hand with the shoe in it to block a jump shot, a hilarious moment that had the internet in hysterics. The best part? The move was totally legal, as long as he didn’t throw the shoe at the ball or player.
Here’s the video of the play:

Perhaps the only thing better is this still photo, taken by McCabe Brown of the Courier & Press in Evansville, Ind.
Here it is in all of its glory. Great photo from our very own MaCabe Brown. https://t.co/CPPEY9ZtOH pic.twitter.com/7HNd8rMflw

College basketball is the best. Kudos to Bello for the ingenuity, which helped lead Fort Wayne to a 70–57 victory.
Blocking a shot with a shoe in hand is big brain thinking. Gonna need some coach to start utilizing this more. https://t.co/owxzxYoHTG

I know he did this with a sneaker and not with a shitty plastic shell that you wear over your foot, but this shall forever be known as the Croc Block. https://t.co/EB5UM32HZ8
