ESPN’s “College GameDay” released the location they’ll be setting shop in Week 10 of college football. This weekend, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and the rest of the GameDay crew will be heading to Happy Valley to see the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes take on the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Nittany Lions, who Kirk Herbstreit praised earlier this week, are undefeated, even with some close wins against USC and Bowling Green. Meanwhile, Herbstreit’s alma mater has just one one-point loss against the No. 1 Oregon Ducks, so this one is seen by many as a tossup.
Penn State could be without their starting quarterback, Drew Allar, as he’s tending to a left knee injury. He and backup Beau Pribula will shared snaps in Tuesday’s practice. “That timeline will go all the way up to the game,” coach James Franklin said, according to ESPN.
If Allar is out, it would be a tough blow for a Nittany Lions team that is trying to win against Ohio State for the first time in seven years. Regardless, this has massive College Football Playoff implications. If one of these teams is able to win convincingly, then they could jump over Georgia in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Speaking of Georgia, the Bulldogs’ next two games at Ole Miss (Nov. 9) and versus Tennessee (Nov. 16) could be in the mix for where GameDay goes in the future. It is understandable why GameDay passed on the Georgia-Florida game for a top-five matchup.
GameDay will begin coverage at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 2. Th’e guest picker hasn’t been announced yet.
