With 40 days until the start of the 2023 college football season, ESPN’s College GameDay announced where the show will kick off the season.
The popular ESPN pregame show will head to Charlotte, N.C., for the Battle of the Carolinas on Saturday, Sept. 2. The rivalry game between UNC and South Carolina has been played since 2015. The last time the two teams faced each other was in ’21 when the Gamecocks beat the Tar Heels 38–21.
College GameDay posted a hype video for the first location of the season, including clips of host Rece Davis, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee, who just started on the show last year.
