College Football Team’s Celebratory Dunk Tank During a Snowstorm Looked Like a Bad Time

It wasn’t exactly bathing suit weather on Tuesday night in Toledo, but that didn’t stop some fans from taking a dip.

Conditions before Toledo’s game against Buffalo at the Glass Bowl were brutal, with heavy snow falling as the teams warmed up. And while the snow dissipated by the time the game began, it was still quite chilly as temperatures struggled to crack 30 degrees.

The cold weather didn’t hamper the Rockets’ offense in a 31–13 victory, which meant there were plenty of opportunities to utilize the sideline dunk tank. Throughout the season, after each Toledo touchdown, one lucky(?) Rockets fan has taken a dip in the dunk tank.

You thought that was going to stop because of a little snow? Never.

According to ESPN sideline reporter Dawn Davenport, the Rockets usually have one fan as the designated dunkee for each quarter, but given the frigid weather, the school tweaked the practice so students wouldn’t have to sit there with their clothes freezing to their bodies between scores.

“They are being careful tonight,” Davenport said. “It’s one dunk and you’re out. They have extra clothes and towels for them.”

That’s definitely for the best.
