College football star struggles to stand after brutal hit as fans horrified by footage

College football star Keylon Stokes was seen struggling to stand after being involved in a brutal helmet-on-helmet hit, leaving fans horrified. Stokes was competing for Tulsa, as they were in NCAA football action against Ole Miss.

Partway through the clash, Stokes was involved in a crushing clash which saw him bounce back and hit the ground. The receiver then looked to get back to his feet and carry on, before crashing back to the floor.

After temporarily getting back on two feet Stokes was clearly taking back by the hit, as he wobbled before falling back on the playing surface.

His second fall to the floor provided worrying scenes to those watching on, as his teammates rushed to his aid following the blow.

Despite looking all but knocked out, Stokes remarkably returned to play soon after following medical checks. The man on the other end of the tackle, Otis Reese was ejected for the tackle after being accused of targeting.

A video of the brutal tackle was uploaded onto social media, and has since been viewed over 1.5 million times on Twitter. Fans watching the video were left wincing after seeing Stokes hit the floor.

One fan - @silkyskilly52 - tweeted: "I know I’m late but damn that’s tough to watch… I hope the other guy got ejected for targeting… I hope the kid is alright."

@DrJesseMorse then added: "Oh my, you HATE to see this! Concussion symptoms sometimes present this way (which is super scary). Hopefully there was no swelling or injuries to the spinal cord," Whilst @highlghtheaven commented: "wow that's tough to watch."

Do you think Reese deserved to be ejected for the tackle? Let us know in the comments section below.

In spite of the ejection, it was Ole Miss who prevailed as winners as they defeated Tulsa 35-27 to extend their unbeaten run to four games. For Tulsa, the defeat means their record so far this season stands at two wins and two losses.

The game leads Ole Miss second in the Southeastern (West) division, joint top with Alabama who have also enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season. Tulsa meanwhile sit seventh in the American Athletic Conference after their first four matches.
