Four of the top five teams in the second release of College Football Playoff Rankings come from the Big Ten.
Oregon and Ohio State lead the way. Then comes Texas of the SEC. After the Longhorns are Penn State and undefeated Indiana, both from the Big Ten.
Another undefeated team sits at six with BYU earning that spot.
Seven through 10 are Tennessee, which plays Georgia this week, Notre Dame, Miami and Alabama.
Another two SEC teams sit in the 11th and 12th slots, Mississippi and Georgia.
However, the 13th team, Boise State, would slot in as the 12th seed because it would be the fifth conference champion if it goes on to win the Mountain West and is the highest conference champion outside the big four.
That would mean, as of now, Georgia, which has the toughest schedule in the country, would be on the outside of the playoffs.
