UNLV coach Barry Odom is going to extreme lengths to ingratiate himself within the Las Vegas community ahead of the 2024 season, and he’s doing so with style.
The 47-year-old decided it would be a good idea to attend a rodeo Saturday night and ride a bull “Widowmaker” to get fans hyped up for the upcoming Rebels season. It went pretty much how you’d expect it would.
Odom lasted about three seconds before hitting the dirt and appeared a bit dazed when getting up from the fall. He then was quickly examined by staff when he was trying to get out of the arena. Afterward, though, he humbly recapped the matchup as if it were a postgame presser.

“He was in control from the start,” Odom said. “I tried to catch up—couldn’t get there.”
Odom led his team to a 9–5 record in his first campaign with UNLV this past season, and he’s clearly committed to filling the seats at Allegiant Stadium.
