Paris Has Fallen (TV Series)

Colin Farrell is set to reprise his role as Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, in the upcoming spinoff series 'The Penguin,' a companion to the highly acclaimed film 'The Batman.' The series, scheduled to premiere this fall on Max, will delve into the character's journey as he ascends to power within the criminal underworld of Gotham City.

The trailer for 'The Penguin' offers a glimpse into Cobblepot's transformation into one of Gotham's most notorious villains, portrayed by Farrell in a captivating performance that has garnered critical acclaim. The narrative follows his rise to prominence following the events of 'The Batman,' with the character navigating the treacherous landscape of Gotham's criminal underbelly.

In addition to Farrell's portrayal, the series features a talented ensemble cast, including Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni. The show's executive producer and showrunner, Lauren LeFranc, brings her expertise from 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' to the project, while Matt Reeves, the writer-director of 'The Batman,' serves as an executive producer through his production company 6th & Idaho.

Production for 'The Penguin' commenced in March 2023 but faced a temporary halt in June due to industry strikes. However, filming resumed shortly after Thanksgiving, ensuring that the series stays on track for its anticipated release. The show is slated to consist of eight episodes, offering fans an immersive exploration of The Penguin's character and motivations.

As fans eagerly await the premiere of 'The Penguin,' they can also anticipate the delayed sequel to 'The Batman,' titled 'The Batman: Part II,' which is now set to hit theaters on Oct. 2, 2026. The interconnected nature of these projects promises a rich and expansive narrative universe for viewers to enjoy.

With its stellar cast, compelling storyline, and ties to the larger 'Batman' universe, 'The Penguin' is poised to captivate audiences and further expand the mythos of Gotham City's most infamous villains. Stay tuned for more updates and exclusive content as the series draws closer to its premiere date.
