Coleman Shelton suffers high-ankle sprain, will miss 4-6 weeks

Coleman Shelton left Monday night’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers with an ankle injury, leaving the Los Angeles Rams even thinner along the offensive line. While announcing the injury news from the team’s loss in Week 4, Sean McVay revealed that Shelton suffered a high-ankle sprain and will miss four-to-six weeks.

The offensive line injuries are piling up for the Rams early this season as Shelton, Brian Allen, David Edwards, and Tremayne Anchrum Jr. have all sustained injuries. Partly due to the injuries, Matthew Stafford was sacked seven times by the 49ers on Monday night.

The Rams have had solid injury luck when it comes to injuries since McVay arrived, however, this year has been the complete opposite. With Shelton set to miss at least a month of action, Jeremiah Kolone is likely going to start at center until Allen can return from his knee injury.

After falling to 2-2 on the season following a blowout loss to the 49ers, the Rams could be without three of their starting interior offensive linemen in Week 5 versus a talented defensive front in the Dallas Cowboys.
