Coleen Rooney 'in talks with Netflix' for Wagatha Christie documentary

Coleen Rooney is reportedly in talks for a Wagatha Christie TV show after winning the infamous libel case against Rebekah Vardy.

The wife of former England star Wayne Rooney is set to reveal all about the lead up to the hearing, as first reported by the Mirror in November 2021. The judgement ruled in favour of Mrs Rooney after a nearly three-year battle after Mrs Vardy sued her for libel.

Mrs Rooney, 36, is said to be in "advanced talks" in telling her story in a documentary series made by Lorton films, who also made 'Rooney' about Wayne's career. The Croxteth -born WAG will reportedly tell the story of how she felt betrayed when she accused Mrs Vardy of leaking stories about her in 2019, according to the Mirror.

She will apparently reveal her failed attempts to settle the matter out of court as well as her shock at the astronomical legal costs which are reported to reach a whopping £3m. A friend of Mrs Rooney previously told the Mirror: "Coleen has remained quiet ever since that famous online post. But this could all change in what could be the TV event of the year.

“Viewers would see all the evidence that Coleen has forensically gathered via her online sleuthing and see why she is convinced that Rebekah leaked the stories about her and others. She is minded to get it all out into the pubic domain and let people make their own minds up. Talks are very well advanced.”

A source told the Daily Mail: "I’m told Coleen has a great sense of right and wrong, of what is moral, and this has become a crusade with her. Now that the court case is over, she is going to take the chance to really tell her full story."

The star is said to have allowed cameras into her home in Cheshire for "greater impact" and will also include comment from husband Wayne about how the stress has affected them as a family. The show is reportedly not yet sold to a broadcaster but global sales are expected for the documentary.

A potential deal with Netflix is also reportedly on the cards, but it's looking like the show will be snapped up by Amazon Prime, as reported by the Mirror, and will be released later this year. The Mirror contacted Coleen's reps for comment.
