Coleen Rooney has jetted off on holiday with her family to Dubai as she skipped the last day of her Wagatha Christie libel trial.

Mrs Rooney had been in court every day for the trial but on Thursday she was seen arriving at Manchester Airport early with her husband Wayne Rooney and their four sons.

In a viral social media post in October 2019, 36-year-old Rooney said she had carried out a “sting operation” and accused Vardy, 40, of leaking “false stories” about her private life to the press.

Mrs Vardy, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, denies leaking stories to the media and she is suing her fellow footballer’s wife for libel while Rooney is defending the claim on the basis her post was “substantially true”.

But on Thursday, pictures obtained by the MailOnline showed the Rooney family getting ready for their holiday.

Mrs Rooney was seen carrying a £1,000 Louis Vuitton travel bag which had her initials ‘CR’.

It is understood the Rooneys had already made their travel plans thinking the case would be over.

In addition to their sons Kai, 12, Klay, eight, Kit, six, and Cass, four, it is reported that they will be joined on their getaway by her parents Colette and Tony McLoughlin.

A source told MailOnline: “It’s been a long and gruelling process for both Wayne and Coleen and they didn’t want to disappoint their children.”

David Sherborne, for Rooney, and Hugh Tomlinson QC, for Vardy, delivered their closing submissions in the seven day trial which has been held before Mr Justice Steyn in central London.

The judge is expected to reserve her final decision on the case to a later date after hearing Thursday’s legal submissions.

The Standard reached out to the Rooney’s representatives for further comment.
