Coleen Nolan was shaken and told her Loose Women colleagues it 'didn't bear thinking about' as she started Wednesday's show with an update on the search for the missing Titanic tour submarine.
It was first reported on Monday that the submarine, carrying passengers on an undersea trip to see the famous sunken ship, had gone missing in the Atlantic, with no signal detected from the OceanGate Expeditions sub since it lost contact with mother ship, the Polar Prince. Five passengers are board - Stockton Rush, CEO of OceanGate; British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman.
It is predicted that the oxygen in the vessel will run out on Thursday morning as US Coast Guard and Canadian Coast Guard continue to be involved in rescue efforts.

As she stepped up to 'replace' Ruth Langsford as host of Loose Women on Wednesday, having been on the the panel for the first two days of this week, Coleen had an update on the missing submarine right at the start of the shortened 30 minute live broadcast. Within moments of cameras rolling, Coleen told those watching at home: "It's the story dominating the news and breaking earlier today, baNging sounds have been heard in the rescue areas of the missing Titanic sub, with five people on board. Experts say they have just under 24 hours of oxygen left to survive."
Turning to her co-star Gloria Huniford, Coleen remarked: "That Gloria, just doesn't bear thinking about," with Gloria then referencing the fact that the missing submarine doesn't even have any seats and is on 9 feet wide with a small window, before saying "We're all praying for that miracle....but I just think about the claustrophobia of all that."
Coleen commented: "When I heard saw that update this morning when I woke up and it said they'd heard banging every 30 minutes, it was that first moment of 'aah, maybe they'll find them.' But then, I had that awful moment of what if they don't and they're still there at the moment."
