Coleen Nolan's 'new boyfriend' is former partner as couple 'rekindle' relationship

After gushing about her "new" partner, it turns out Coleen Nolan's latest partner is in fact an old flame, friends have said. The Loose Women star recently shared that she has "never been happier" after finding fresh love.

But it turns out that Coleen's special someone is in fact her ex-boyfriend. After splitting in April 2022, Coleen and supermarket worker Michael Jones have decided to rekindle their romance.

Coleen has been candid about getting back on the dating scene during chats with her fellow Loose Women, telling her friends and co-stars that her insecurities held her back from finding "The One" at times. But the singer has now revealed that she has decided to give things another go with Michael after a year apart.

Coleen has shared that her relationship with Michael, who she met on Tinder, feels totally different to the year they spent together before deciding to part ways. The couple went public with their romance in January 2022, when Michael appeared on the ITV chat show alongside Coleen, before calling time on their relationship just three months later.

A source close to the couple claimed to OK! Magazine that the Coleen and Michael "stayed close" after their break up, and are now taking things slow after rekindling their relationship. The insider alleged: "They are just taking things slowly, not labelling it, and just seeing what happens.

"Coleen and Michael have been on and off since they broke up last year. In fact, you could say they didn’t completely call it off at all. They spoke to each other almost every other day but hadn’t put a label on it.

"They weren’t officially together as a couple but they were still in each other’s lives. Now Coleen has spoken out about her relationship on Loose Women, it suggests she is ready to admit to herself, and others, that they are official again.

"Coleen has often struggled with her confidence in relationships, but as she said herself, now she has truly opened herself up, she has never been happier. It is lovely to see her feeling this way."

Coleen revealed what it was like to get into a new relationship during one of her Loose Women appearances last week. The star reflected on her past relationships - including her marriages to EastEnders actor Shane Richie and musician Ray Fensome - as she suggested that, if you've not got an instant connection with someone, then the relationship isn't right.

"Gradually over time with the person I'm with now, it has taken a longer time and it's my fault because I keep thinking I'm not used to this," she said. "I'm not used to somebody loving me the way you do because I've never believed I have.

"Because I've never been with anyone that has made me feel that 100 per cent."

Coleen was married to Shane from 1990 until 1999, with the couple welcoming two sons, Shane Jr and Jake, into the world during their relationship. Shortly after splitting from Shane, Coleen met Ray, with whom she had daughter Ciara, born in June 2001.

Coleen and Ray got engaged a few months after Ciara's birth, eventually tying the knot in November 2007. But things turned sour around 2016, with Coleen announcing in 2018 that the couple were divorcing after two years of marital difficulties.
