Coleen Nolan has opened up about how her daughter told her to leave the house as her marriage to Ray Fensome began to break down.
The Loose Women star, 56, opened up about sharing a home with her ex while their relationship was on rocky ground.
As the panelists addressed ITV's new drama Our House, which sees a woman share her home with her ex to provide their children with stability, they spoke about how they would deal with such a situation.
Quizzed on whether she would have stayed with ex Ray, who she split from in 2018 after 11 years of marriage, for their daughter Ciara, she said: "I had to leave. I tried to make my marriage work and we tried staying in the same house, probably for two or three years longer than we should and a lot of it was that I didn't want my kids to be from a broken home.
"I don't think it's a great way to bring kids up, to think that's how relationships are. I think they would have grown up thinking that's a normal relationship and it wasn't."
Christine Lampard pointed out: "Because your children are going to other households and seeing other couples being happy."
"Of course, and they're seeing other couples happy, other mums and dads holding hands and having a laugh and they're coming to me and he's one end of the couch and I'm the other," Coleen said. "That's not good. And it was actually Ciara when she was 15 who said, 'I think you should leave because I'm going to love both of you always but I can't stand the way you are in the house.' Because we were like lodgers in the same house."
Coleen has said that she is much happier now after meeting her current boyfriend on Tinder.
She met Michael Jones, 58, on dating app Tinder last year, and has been reluctant to reveal him to the world as she was keen to keep their romance under wraps.
The Loose Woman has since introduced her boyfriend on the ITV show, which included her co-stars mercilessly grilling him.
