Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has admitted she has "never been happier" as she confirmed the news she is in a new relationship on the daytime ITV programme among her colleagues, as she discussed her difficulties in breaking into romance again.
The 58-year-old television presenter appeared on the panel alongside co-stars Ruth Langsford, Gloria Hunniford and Jane Moore, she discussed what it is like getting into a new relationship following her split from Michael Jones back in April last year.
Coleen had been with supermarket worker Michael for a year before the pair went their separate ways, as Coleen confessed it was her insecurities that held her back from finding love again and returning to the dating scene, reports the Mirror.
The former singer dwelled on her past romances, where she said that if you haven't formed an instant connection with the person then the relationship just isn't right, as she candidly admitted that stance held her back following her split with Michael.
She said: "Gradually over time with the person I'm with now, it has taken a longer time and it's my fault because I keep thinking I'm not used to this.
"I'm not used to somebody loving me the way you do because I've never believed I have. Because I've never been with anyone that has made me feel that 100%."
Coleen continued to say that she has been with people in the past who don't pay her compliments or show affection by simply holding her hand, with now accepting the gestures leaving her freaked out at first.
Coleen added: "Now over the last couple of years I've said you know what just accept it for once in your life and enjoy it.
"It's what you have been looking for and now that I have truly opened myself up to it I have never been happier."
The TV presenter has had a rough time when it came to relationships over the years, having tied the knot twice firstly to EastEnders star Shane Richie and the second to Leeds musician Ray Fensome.
Coleen and Shane had been together for many years and even welcomed their first child together, Shane Jr, in 1988, before going on to say 'I do' at the end of the aisle in 1990 and went on to welcome their second child Jake two years later.
But their relationship was soon plagued with infidelity claims when Shane moved to Manchester on his own to take on the role of Danny Zuko in Grease in 1996 before they eventually split in 1999.
Meanwhile, Coleen and her second husband Ray welcomed their daughter Ciara in June 2001 and got engaged four years later. They tied the knot in 2007 but after facing two years of marital problems Coleen announced in 2018 they were divorcing.
Although Coleen had 'dipped her toe' in the world of online dating after her split from Ray in 2018 when she met her ex-partner Michael from Tinder things didn't work out and they went their separate ways a year later.
