COLE MCKINNON insists he is in the right place at the right time at Ibrox after committing his long-term future to boyhood heroes Rangers.
The midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025 as he was rewarded for a fine breakthrough campaign last term.
McKinnon was a key part of the B Team that enjoyed an encouraging season in the Lowland League under the guidance of David McCallum and also earned Scotland Under-19 recognition.
His crowning moment came on the final day of the season as he stepped off the bench to score on his debut as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side beat Hearts at Tynecastle.
And the Auchenhowie kid is confident there is plenty more to come next time out as he aims to force his way into first team reckoning now that his future has been signed and sealed.
"I was absolutely delighted," McKinnon told RangersTV. "I have signed a few contracts with Rangers and there is no better feeling that signing for the club you love.
"Every year I have been here I have got better and better. I would like that to carry on.
"It is the best coaching staff and best facilities in Scotland so I am absolutely delighted to be staying here for another three years.
"It was amazing to even get offered. I was just over the moon with it. I know my family and friends will be as happy as I am. I am buzzing.
"It was a great end to the season I had and it makes me want to strive and get more. I have had that first taste and you never want to stop. It is something I would like to look more into and kick on.
"It was amazing [to score against Hearts]. It is still surreal, I still can’t believe it actually happened.
"I am still coming to terms with it. Going home that day and seeing how happy my family was, it was what I want to do. I want to keep it going."
