Coldplay fans were left “gutted” after missing out on cheap Infinity tickets for the band's UK shows next summer, with many claiming they sold out in under 10 minutes.
Priced at £20 each plus a booking fee, the tickets were part of the group’s effort to make their Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to everyone.
Tickets must be purchased in pairs, with seats together but positioned anywhere in the stadium.
The band’s two Hull shows at Craven Park, home of Hull KR, are scheduled for August 18 and 19, 2025, and are the only UK performances outside of 10 dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.
As part of Coldplay's commitment to grassroots music, 10% of all proceeds from the tour will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, a charity dedicated to preserving independent music venues across the UK.
However, many frustrated fans took to social media to vent, accusing Ticketmaster of glitches or kicking them out of the queue after they missed out on tickets again when the affordable tickets when on-sale at midday.
One penned: “@TicketmasterUK for ½hr now friends have been trying to get mine and my wifes bucketlist tickets to see @coldplay in our home town of Hull.
“NOT ONE APP OR SITE WORKS!!!!! Why can't I go to Craven Park and purchase tickets from them. Absolutely gutted”.
“@coldplay we need more UK dates please!!! Tickets were in my basket and now I’m going to miss the show due to @TicketmasterUK,” another wrote.
A third claimed: “Had to be less than 2000 #coldplay #infinity tickets available, inside the top 1000 and no tickets left within the 10 minutes to get to the front of the queue #Ticketmaster are a con trying to buy gig tickets is mega stress these days.”
A fan fumed on X/Twitter: “Absolute sh*tshow , no information to go on another site just told to go on ticketmaster but that's only wembley , all gone by 12.10 , disgraceful” (sic).

A fan said: “@TicketmasterUK had #Coldplay Infinity tickets in my basket, went to pay only to be sent to back of queue - ohh how we hate your uselessness Ticketmaster”
“@TicketmasterUK @coldplay So not only do all the tickets go super quick and then end up on resale sites within minutes now looks like no infinity tickets for hull,” another claimed.
The Standard has contacted Ticketmaster UK for comment.
In September, it was revealed Coldplay will become the first music act to play 10 nights at Wembley Stadium in a single tour, breaking a record jointly held by Taylor Swift and Take That.
The band, comprised of frontman Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman, had initially announced a six-night run at Wembley next year but added four more shows due to “phenomenal demand”.
Grammy-award winner Swift, who kicked off her juggernaut Eras Tour in 2023, this year became the first solo artist to play the venue eight times in a single tour, with the stadium gifting her a bespoke guitar to mark her achievement.
Pop group Take That, known for hits including Patience and Greatest Day, performed eight shows at the stadium in 2011.
The pop band, known for songs including Clocks, Yellow and Fix You, will also play at Craven Park in Hull in August next year alongside a special guest, yet to be announced.
This year the band headlined Glastonbury Festival on the Saturday night where they were joined by artists including Little Simz and Nigerian music legend Femi Kuti, as well as Back To The Future star Michael J Fox.
The group are to play dates in Australia from October as part of their ongoing Music Of The Spheres world tour which is named after their 2021 album of the same name.
In October, the band released their tenth studio album, Moon Music. which became the fastest-selling album of any British act in 2024 so far.
According to the Official Charts Company, the record shifted over 160,000 chart units in 72 hours and became the biggest week for a UK artist in the chart since Adele’s 30 debuted at number one with 261,000 chart units in 2021.
