However due to the large scale of the event, drivers are being warned that there may be delays if they are travelling on these days. As a result, Glasgow City Council (GCC) have issued a list of road closures motorists need to take note of whether you're dropping someone off, heading to the gig yourself or happen to be nearby.
So are any roads closed or restricted? Here's what you need to know.
On their website GCC have written: "Roads affected and dates and times of restriction applying to all vehicles with the exception of an emergency service vehicle carrying out an emergency response or vehicles given permission from Glasgow City Council filming and events section."
Prohibition of vehicle movements
From 18:00hrs on the 23 August 2022 to 23:59hrs on the 24 August 2022:
- Sommerville Drive for its full length
- Letherby Drive for its full length
The reason for restrictions, according to GCC, is due to the "safety of the event and other road users." They add: "Vehicle" unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power; "emergency service vehicle" means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services to also include NHS blood transfer vehicles."
