Cold Palmer! Chelsea star Cole 'applies to trademark shivering goal celebration'

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has reportedly moved to trademark his goal celebration.

A common feature after the 22-year-old finds the back of the net is for him to rub his hands over his arms to mimic shivering. He first did it during a 3-2 win over Luton last December, though the originator of the celebration is Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers.

Because of Palmer's impressive goalscoring record since swapping Manchester for London, the Villa star has allowed him to call it his own.

"I'll let him have it," Rogers said earlier in the season. "He's scored 40 goals or something stupid. Can't really argue with that, can I?"

And it would appear that Palmer is certainly running with the goal celebration and taking things a step further as reports from The Sun claim he's made moves to own the term “Cold Palmer”.

According to reports, his application to the Government’s Intellectual Property Office even includes a video of his celebration.

Documents reportedly reveal that he wants to use it to sell products including, diet drinks, food, clothes, toys, aftershave, cosmetics, razor blades and cars.

If successful, Palmer will become the latest footballer to get a trademark following in the footsteps of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-stars such as David Beckham and Gareth Bale.
