Cold and windy weather will continue across the North East on Thursday.
Wet weather is also expected to continue, with bands of rain expected around midday and showers in the afternoon. Going into the Friday and the weekend, it will remain windy, with "showery interludes" throughout.
The Met Office said: "Cold and mostly clear to start, but bands of rain and strong winds expected towards midday with clear periods and isolated showers in the afternoon, but remaining windy. Maximum temperature 9 °C."
