Drinks giant Coca Cola has addressed rumours that one its most popular drinks is being pulled from shelves. Speculation was rife that Coke Zero - a no calorie and zero sugar version of the brand's flagship Coca-Cola drink - was set to be discontinued in the UK.
The rumour seemed to stem from a social media post published by a retail fashion company - sending Coke Zero fans into meltdown. In the Facebook post, boohoo.com wrote: "BREAKING - Coke Zero is being discontinued in the UK" along with the 'breaking heart' emoji.
According to BirminghamLive, Boohoo received more than 20,000 comments from a mix of worried fans and delighted haters and appealed to Coca Cola to gve a definitive answer. They asked: "Okay [Coca Cola], we need answers ASAP. Please tell us the rumours about Coke Zero being discontinued aren't true".
The multinational beverage giant made some people's day as they confirmed that Coke Zero is going nowhere. They replied, saying: "Don't worry, Coke Zero is here to stay!"
Coca-Cola GB also responded to PrettyLittleThing who had bemoaned the news on Twitter, saying: "That’s news to us in Great Britain!! Coke Zero is set to stay, especially on a day like today."
