Cohen Used HELOC To Pay Stormy Daniels, Testifies In Court

Stormy Daniels enters federal court in Manhattan

A former lawyer testified that he used a home equity line of credit (HELOC) to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels $130,000 because he was concerned that his wife would notice the withdrawal from their personal bank account. The lawyer, who described his wife as the 'CEO of the household,' explained that he opted for the HELOC because it was a paperless transaction, which would go unnoticed by his spouse.

The lawyer stated that he agreed to make the payment himself due to the urgency of finalizing the deal. He expressed confidence that he would be able to pay off the HELOC balance once he was reimbursed by the Trump Organization.

Furthermore, the lawyer testified that former President Donald Trump was aware of the payment arrangement with Daniels and had given his approval before the transaction was completed. The lawyer emphasized that he informed Trump of the situation to secure his approval and ensure that he would be reimbursed for the payment.
