Whilst it's nice to get dressed up and head out for dinner with friends or family, sometimes all you need is a good cup of coffee - and maybe a sweet treat or two.
Glasgow is not short of cafés with many of them being award-winning for a good reason - and what's better than good food in a relaxing atmosphere?
Just this week, local café Kembre and Jones took home the crown for the best Café/Bistro of the Year in Glasgow whilst other businesses around the city also managed to scoop a trophy at the Food Awards Scotland 2022.

The UK will be celebrating Coffee Week which is set to take place between October 10 until the 16th. So whether you're just starting out or you're a coffee connoisseur, here's the top 10 places to go to for coffee, as ranked by Tripadvisor.
10. The Hi T Company
Coming in at number 10 is The Hi T Company who have a total of 35 reviews. Located near Tollcross Park, the eatery is also ranked at seventh place out of 62 dessert spots in Glasgow.

Complimentary soft drinks (mango bubble tea) were given to us while our high tea was freshly prepared for us.
"They have so many different teas and all ur tea and coffees are bottomless, we are coffee drinkers so we were happy, then the caddy came and oh my goodness me it was amazing filled to the brim and the sandwiches were also bottomless I honestly cannot fault it. 100 per cent recommended it also in my opinion they do the biggest and best strawberry tarts in the world."

Next on the list is Papercup who are located in the west end. The café, who also serve some serious looking brunch, get rave feedback online with a total of 201 reviews.

Tripadvisor review: "We tried the avocado on toast and the choc chip & peanut butter cookie. Both really delicious and highly recommended. Coffee is also proper coffee and reasonably priced. We tried coffee at the Papercup roastery nearby - nice setting off the Main Street and coffee tasted better with the smell of the coffee roasting!"

8. Cafe Fame
With a total of almost 200 reviews, this café, located in the city centre, comes out as one of the best having been voted 'Travellers Choice 2022'.
As well as coming in highly rated for their coffee, it seems that their lattes' specially are a hit for many.

This local café gets many compliments about its "lovely atmosphere" as well as their great coffee. This café was also awarded 'Travellers Choice 2022'.
Similar to Café Fame, people rave about their cappuccino which you can get to go if you're in a rush. Perfect for the commute to work or as you walk around the city.

Coming in at number five, this lovely spot is located on Argyle Street and was also awarded 'Travellers Choice 2022'. Boasting being picked as a 'Travellers Choice 2022' spot, the café is located just outside Glasgow Central Station. So if you ever are in need of a quick caffeine fix before - or after - jumping on the train, this is the place to go according to reviews with it being a hit with locals and tourists.

Coming in as part of the top three coffee spots in Glasgow is this lovely tea room located just a short distance away from Central Station and is a hit with locals as well as those visiting the city.
As well as boasting an impressive near two thousand reviews, the majority of which are 'excellent', the tea room has also been chosen as 'Travellers Choice' for 2022.

Tripadvisor review: "This is a lovely coffee shop and patisserie close to the university on Byres Road. The cakes, many disguised as fruit, are delightful. We met friends there on a Saturday morning and really enjoyed ourselves."

Coming in at the top spot according to the travel review website is Picinic, located in the city centre. And having previously won one of Glasgow Live's 2019 Best Places, it's not hard to see why.

Tripadvisor review: "Found this place on a Saturday morning, just when we were about to give up hope finding something half decent! Service is super friendly, helpful and fast. Two of us had the full breakfast (highly recommended), one had the BLT (also excellent) and one had the waffles (next level!). Well priced too.
"Also - as other reviews have noted - I can vouch for the coffee being good. Was so good, we went back the following day for lunch. Will definitely be visiting again when next in Glasgow!"
