Cody Gakpo is relishing the prospect of linking up with summer signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai as he urged Liverpool to pick up where they left off last season.
Jurgen Klopp has overhauled the Reds midfield by splashing out £95million on the duo after a disappointing campaign that saw his team miss out on Champions League qualification.
Gakpo worked alongside his new team-mates for the first time on Tuesday as the remainder of Liverpool's squad - bar England under-21 champions Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott - met up at the AXA Training Centre to begin pre-season training.
And of summer arrivals Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, the Dutchman said: “Very pleased (they are here). I think everybody knows that they are very good players and I’m really looking forward to playing with them together.

“I'm very excited (to be back). I think first of all it’s nice to see everybody after a short break. It's important to get your rest (in the summer) but also you want to be fit when we come here, and that's why we train so hard.
“I think everybody has the same mindset at the moment: we really want to achieve something this year again. That’s the target and we will train hard for that. We want to show everybody what we can do."
Gakpo was a key figure in Liverpool's stronger second half to last season having arrived for £44m from PSV Eindhoven in January, with his goal in the final match at Southampton taking him to 20 goals and 20 assists in 50 games for both clubs over the course of the campaign.
And speaking to liverpoolfc.com, Gakpo said: “We ended the campaign pretty good with a nice run of winning games, and I hope we start there again and do that for the whole season: win prizes together and show everybody how good we are.
“For me personally, (my aims are) just working hard, keep improving and helping the team as much as I can. What are my hopes? To really have an impact by scoring goals, giving assists, helping the team, working hard with the result of winning games. In the end we win as a team and hopefully we are going to win some prizes again.”
