A “HIDDEN” new cocktail and whisky bar is set to open in Edinburgh this week which features an unusual artistic touch – it has an original Banksy artwork.
Opening on Friday, September 13, The Burrow will offer a “carefully crafted sanctuary” where customers will be treated to mixed drinks in a relaxed atmosphere of “trendy” and “contemporary” interior design.
Located just off the Royal Mile, the bar is nestled below the Three Blind Mice restaurant, which shares the same owners, and will offer whisky tastings Thursday through Sunday.
Aiming to be one of the capital's best-kept secrets and top venues for nightlife, the owners have made the quirky decision to add a Banksy artwork of the 3D Rat to its decor, to offer something a little different to visitors.
The artwork features a rat, which is synonymous with the artist wearing 3D glasses and is framed and illuminated in a vault-like alcove at the bar.
The owners of Three Blind Mice James, John, and Oscar, said they have poured their hearts into the bar and are looking forward to welcoming guests.
They said: “With The Burrow, we wanted to create a space that feels like a well-kept secret, a place where people can relax, unwind, and enjoy the finer things in life.
“We've poured our hearts into every aspect of this bar, and we can't wait for our guests to discover it.”
