A man has been arrested after a hefty drugs haul was taken from a car after a driver was pulled over by cops in Fife.
Posting on social media, Police Scotland road traffic officers wrote that a motorist had allegedly been caught on Church Street in the town of Glenrothes driving only with a provisional licence and without insurance. The incident took place around 3.30pm on Tuesday, June 28.
After raiding the Audi, it is alleged police discovered £900 of cannabis, 2000 tablets, 54g of powder and £300 cash. The individual also allegedly tested positive for cocaine.
Following the event, a search warrant was issued on a property and drugs with an estimated street value of £3,390 were also seized. A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with drugs and road traffic offences and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Officers have used the alleged incident as a warning that it is 'not just tickets' they deal with, but events where individuals are subject to serious consequences for road traffic offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 34 -year-old man was arrested and is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with drugs and road traffic offences after an Audi car was stopped on Church Street, Glenrothes around 3.30pm on Tuesday, 28 June.
"A further search of a property took place and a drugs with an estimated street value of £3390 were recovered."
