Coatbridge late night firebomb attack on car outside luxury home sparks police manhunt

Police are appealing for information after a car was deliberately torched outside a house in Coatbridge.

Officers responded around 3am on Tuesday following the report of the blaze at an address on Roseburn Cottages.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire safely. There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in tall, of a stocky build and at the time of the incident was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Detective Constable Lisa McMullen of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this incident.

“Although this happened in the early hours of the morning, we would appeal to anyone who has any information surrounding the fire to come forward and speak to police.

“I would also ask if you notice anyone matching this description or acting suspicious in the area that you get in touch with officers.”

Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 0313 of Tuesday, 7 June, 2022.
