A Coastguard helicopter has landed on a Scots beach as mercy crews have raced to the ongoing incident.
A multi-emergency response has scrambled to Kinghorn Beach in Fife.
Images show specialist diving units, a rescue helicopter, ambulance crews and police assisting with the ongoing incident.
The response is believed to have been called to the beach one hour ago.
It has been confirmed that the ongoing incident is a medical issue.
Police Scotland are assisting with the ongoing operation.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "HM Coastguard assisted in an incident off the coast of Kirkcaldy this morning at 9.15am.
