Coalisland resident's car vandalised in attack

A car has been badly damaged in a vandalism attack in Co Tyrone.

The vehicle which was parked in the Ardnaskea Drive area of Coalisland has been left with severe damage to the windscreen and bodywork.

Speaking to MyTyrone, Sinn Fein MLA candidate for the area appealed for those responsible not to get involved in this type of anti-social behaviour.

"Cars have been parked in this area for years now and this has never happened.

"There is a lot of good community work going on in our town and I would encourage anyone who is involved in this type of behaviour to become more involved in the positive work that is being done.

"This is your community, your town, if you be good to your community, they will be good to you.

"If anyone has any information or CCTV footage of this incident please let us know."

A P SNI spokesperson said: "Police in Dungannon are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of criminal damage being caused to a car which was parked at Ardnaskea in Coalisland.

"Officers were notified of damage having been caused to the windscreen of the vehicle, and score marks on some of the car’s panels.

"Enquiries are continuing, and police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, or have any information which could assist with the investigation, to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, and quote reference number RM22026478.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org "
