Co-op shoppers can save over £8 with freezer filling deal that costs a fiver

The Co-op has become the latest supermarket to launch a frozen food deal for £5, following in the footsteps of Asda and Iceland, helping families stock their freezer with teatime favourites amid the cost of living crisis.

While Asda shoppers could save up to £7.50, those shopping at Iceland could save £8 on their deal, which included free crayons. But at the Co-op, the total saving is £8.10.

The offer was spotted by deals expert Tom Church, where he shared it to the Latest Deals TikTok., quickly racking up more than 50,000 views.

In the video, Tom said: “Just in time for summer, families across the country can enjoy a delicious treat meal featuring crispy chicken dippers, garlic bread, battered onion rings, garlic potato wedges and a choice of three ice cream tubs - Carte D’Or, Vienetta or Kit Kat.

“If it’s just one or two of you at home, you can really make this meal deal stretch. That’s because you get 22 chicken dippers from Birds Eye, which will go with either the onion rings or potato wedges. The other bag will keep in the freezer for your next meal!

“The KitKat ice cream is to die for, and it’s impressive that it’s included as it normally goes for £3.85. If you bought each of these items separately outside of the deal, you’d be paying just over £13, so to get a whole meal like this for £5 can really be a treat.”

It's important to note that the deal is only applicable when all five of the items are purchased in one transaction, so if you don't like one of the products included, it may not be the deal for you.

There’s only a few weeks for shoppers to grab the offer, as it’s running until July 19, 2022. Those who have an NUS/TOTUM card can also grab 10% off making it £4.50 in total.

The Co-Op £5 Frozen Meal Deal tends to renew every month, so be sure to check next month to see what the new range is at your local Co-op.
