Everyday essentials have been going up in price for weeks. However, one supermarket is now saying that it is cutting the price of 50 products in a bid to 'give back' to customers.
Central England Co-op has cut prices on over 50 everyday essential products in its stores with members now able to save over £22 on the products included in the special offer.
In September, Nottinghamshire Live reported that the price of milk at several major supermarkets had hit record prices making it more expensive than petrol per litre. At the time, National Farming Union President Minette Batters said: "Costs are rising rapidly on farms across the country."

The Member discount from the Co-op, which is free and open to customers by signing up online, spans a range of essential products including cheese, tea bags, eggs and pasta sauce. It brings the price of a 4-pint milk carton down to £1.50. Some products have been reduced by up to 43%.
Elsewhere in-store, Insomnia and Costa Express hot drinks machines have an exclusive discount set up for Members, with a saving of 50p per drink until 31 January 2023. Members can also save 50p on lunchtime meal deals priced at £3.50 for Members when purchasing a main, side and drink from the meal deal range.
Rajesh Gupta, Central England Co-op’s Chief Member and Customer Officer, said: “We’re always looking for ways to give back to our Members. These offers on essential products are part of our aim to support Members in our communities this winter, and we’re pleased to be able to offer these prices when they are needed the most.”
The retailer says it is also supporting the government’s Help For Households initiative by sharing a range of discounts under its Shop Locally For Less campaign. This provides links to food and drink offers alongside budget friendly recipe ideas.
