Co Fermanagh social workers nominated for top award

Two social workers from Co Fermanagh have been nominated for a top award in the industry as recognition for their work.

Hannah Brown and Stacey Abbott work for the family and child care team at the Western Trust, and have been nominated by their manager Josie Doran.

The two women have been nominated as "Amazing Social Workers" as part of the British Association of Social Workers celebration of "World Social Work Month" this March.

Josie says both Hannah and Stacey have proven themselves to be great assets for the local community.

“Stacey Abbott is the friendliest, bubbliest, chattiest and helpful social worker that I have had the privilege to work alongside since taking up the role as manager,” manager Josie said.

“Nothing is ever too much trouble for Stacey and no matter how busy she is with her own caseload and the challenges working in a busy family and childcare team she always has time to offer assistance to her colleagues.

“She has really got to know the families she is working with and the children are regularly making her cards, drawing pictures and giving her little gifts.”

On Hannah, Josie said that nothing is ever too much trouble for her.

“The support that I have got from Hannah managing the new pilot has been and continues to be phenomenal,” she added.

“I have found her to be willing, available and approachable. Even though she is up to her eyes, Hannah takes the time to talk matters through. For me I have found her compassionate approach to be invaluable.”
