Clyde boss urges 'consistency' factor after poor end to League One season

Clyde closed out their League One campaign in eighth place after a 2-1 defeat to Dumbarton on the final day and boss Danny Lennon says fans deserve more.

A loud away following followed his men on the third tier's final day but it ended in defeat.

Kristoffer Syvertsen handed the Sons a first half lead before Lewis Jamieson hit back before the interval.

Gregg Wylde’s strike ensured a victory for the home side, who are involved in League One play-off action.

Inconsistency has been part of Clyde's game this year and Lennon knows it's something that needs to be eradicated next term.

A period of reflection now awaits them before a summer rebuild.

The former St Mirren manager said: “I thought the highlight of the day was the supporters. They were so lively and energetic. I feel we’ve let them down with our inconsistency at times.

“I promise that will get better going into next season as we have a hard summer coming up. In reflection of the game, we started okay and give a poor goal away.

“We regroup and in the second half we looked more lively. Over the course of the season, we needed to improve our goal deficit.

“Going into next season, our fourth consecutive season in League One, that’s great. I know the quality we can produce at times and we’ll have a lot of reflecting.”
