Clyde boss Danny Lennon has blasted referee Gavin Duncan for awarding Airdrie's opener in their 5-0 derby defeat after striker Lewis Jamieson scored while five yards offside.
In a moment of controversy approaching half-time, the Diamonds opened the scoring when the ball was diverted by Clyde's Morgaro Gomis into the path of Jamieson in the six-yard box.
The far side assistant flagged for offside but referee Duncan awarded the goal with the ball deemed to have been played by the Clyde towards Jamieson, who was on loan at the Bully Wee last term.
As it was, Airdrie ran out clear victors thanks to a double from Callum Smith and strikes from Gabby McGill and Salim Kouider-Aissa, all in the second half.
But Lennon is furious with the opener.
He said: "I can understand the referee and the ruling, but there is that many rulings now for offside that nobody knows. You can guess at it now.
"I respected his decision at half-time but when I look back at it on the video, I think it is a poor decision.
"How can they make the rule that if you stand five yards offside and a midfield player goes to close a ball down and it deflects off him into the [Airdrie] player, that is onside?
"Everybody will now just be standing that far offside hoping it is going to take a wee nick off somebody.
"I would understand if Mo has misplaced the ball or taken a poor touch. It's not like that at all.
"He has gone in there and the Airdrie boy has tried to play the ball through, it's come off Mo and landed in Lewis' path.
"He is clearly five yards off and I think the assistant got it right [to put his flag up].
"But, nevertheless, that's not where the game was lost for us.
"I thought it was very tight in the first half and we had some good moments. Airdrie caused us a few problems with their full-backs and the amount of times wee Charlie [Telfer] had in the middle of the pitch, with the quality he has.
"But I thought there were moments in the first half, up until their goal, where we had the best opportunities.
"Two great saves from the young Airdrie goalkeeper [Alex Henderson] have denied us.
"And just as you think it's maybe going to be stalemate at half-time they get the goal.
"Even up to the 66th minute when the second goal went in, I thought we were well in the game.
"We were controlling good period of it.
"But once the second goal goes in that's where I felt we stopped working as a unit."
Clyde are now on a run of four straight defeats in League One and have conceded 13 goals in that period.
Lennon believes his players downed tools after the second goal came from McGill and he added: "You could start to see heads go down after the second goal and that's not the first time I've stood here in recent weeks and said that.
"The players have got to understand games of football are 90 minutes plus and you've got to go the end.
"In my time at Clyde Football Club, it's always been the case that even when we are a goal or two down we fight right till the end.
"On a lot of those occasions we have brought the game back. Today we didn't.
"But, by God, were Airdrie ruthless with their finishing."
