'Clucking idiot' who crossed Nottinghamshire border for chicken takeaway pulled over by officers

A driver who crossed the border into Nottinghamshire to get a takeaway was handed a ticket after being stopped by police. Officers 'spoiled' the man's meal after he was asked to pull over.

Police warned drivers to check their vehicles before entering Nottinghamshire after leaving the man with a 'bucket of tickets' on Sunday afternoon (September 4). The driver's vehicle was described as a 'battered jeep' by officers who advised other motorists to make sure their cars are "legal on the roads".

In a post on their social media page at around 11am, Nottinghamshire Roads Policing Unit said: "This clucking idiot thought he would cross the border into Notts for chicken, abreast his battered jeep (see what we did there). He didn't count on the team 2 RPU Colonels and local cops spoiling his meal.

"Trying to give it wings he reverse rammed a police vehicle and ended up with his beak to the floor with his legs shaking. Imagine not even getting chance to enjoy your freshly ordered three piece variety meal, now the only thing left in his bucket are his list of tickets he's been issued. The moral of the story, if you’re not legal on the roads, don’t come to Notts for takeaway!"
