ClubsNSW has appointed a temporary boss after sacking former chief executive Josh Landis over his comments regarding the premier's Catholic faith and push to reform pokies laws.
Deputy chair of the ClubsNSW board, Sallianne Faulkner, will take the reins of the organisation while a permanent replacement for Mr Landis is sought, the organisation announced on Thursday.
Ms Faulkner said she would work with whoever formed government following the March election to deliver "sensible" reform for the industry.
"Reform that is informed by evidence and ensures long-term industry viability for our communities, our staff and our club members," Ms Faulkner said.
Mr Landis was sacked by the board after suggesting Dominic Perrottet was motivated by his "Catholic gut" in pursuing reforms to introduce statewide cashless pokies.
Despite strongly condemning the comments, Mr Perottet later said his faith did play a part in framing his decision-making.
Ms Faulkner, who was appointed to the board of ClubsNSW in 2018 and elected deputy chair in June 2019, said the industry faced challenges on multiple levels.
As well as serving as president of Ramsgate RSL, Ms Faulkner is general manager of the Bayside Women's Shelter and a director of Netball NSW.
ClubsNSW chairman George Peponis said Sallianne was a widely respected and skilled business and community leader.
"She possesses the right combination of integrity, compassion and intelligence that is well suited to leading a large and complex organisation like ClubsNSW. We are fortunate to have a person of Sallianne's calibre within our ranks to lead the organisation through an important transition period," he said.
