Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) has issued a warning to residents as fire crews tackle a blaze in the Kilcarberry area of Clondalkin.
The fire involves large tractor tyres and is discharging large amounts of "thick, acrid, black smoke". Residents living downwind of the incident have been urged to close their doors and windows.
In a tweet at 9pm, the fire service said: "Firefighters from Tallaght are dealing with large tractor tyres on fire in the Kilcarberry area of Clondalkin. Thick acrid black smoke is drifting across the area.

"If you are living downwind of the fire please close your doors and windows to prevent smoke entering your home."
In a later tweet, a DFB spokesperson said: "The Foam and Environmental Unit has arrived on scene and Firefighters are using foam to smother the fire. Foam will make a huge impact and the fire will be out shortly. Smoke from the fire should now have dissipated. "
The Foam and Environmental Unit is based at DFB's HQ in Tara Street, in Dublin city centre.
