Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George has made his fair share of waves since dropping his podcast in March 2023. “Playoff P” has landed a new nickname thanks to Podcast P with Paul George, and the most recent episode saw the Clippers forward dive into the world of NBA trade rumors, specifically discussing a potential Golden State Warriors-Toronto Raptors deal.
George spoke about a recent trade rumor that had been floated involving the idea of sending Pascal Siakam to the Warriors in a deal that would include Jonathan Kuminga heading to the Raptors, calling it “a win for both sides.”
“I saw them put in Pascal [Siakam] and [Jonathan] Kuminga in a trade, and I thought about it and I was like, that’s a win for both sides…” George explained.
“[Siakam] can be a number one option, but that’s not where he’s the best at, I think him being the second, third option is where he can really shine. Because he can do a little of everything and I think it works perfectly playing with Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson], they spread the floor, he could rebound, he could playmaker,” George said of Siakam’s fit with the Warriors.
The Clippers star added that, obviously, Golden State would need to add more to make the contracts work. But George believes putting Kuminga on a young, up-and-coming Raptors team will make them a “fun team for years to come.”

All the insight from George makes a lot of sense. It would be interesting to see Siakam join the Warriors for a number of reasons. While it’s unknown if he’ll sign an extension with a team he’s traded to immediately, there still has to be plenty of appeal for Siakam to ink a long-term deal with Golden State.
With that said, the latest chatter around Kuminga is that the Warriors view him as a potential star and that it’s “virtually a no-go” on the team trading him, according to SportsNet’s Michael Grange. But the debate around Kuminga feels strange to gauge following the rumblings that the 21-year-old has “lost faith” in Golden State coach Steve Kerr to allow him to reach his potential, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported.
Time will tell, but Golden State would be wise to at least consider the idea of adding Siakam to a core of Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green.
