Clippers at Rockets (Nov. 2): Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

In an immediate redemption opportunity after letting a late lead slip away in Los Angeles, the young and rebuilding Houston Rockets (1-7) will host the Clippers (3-4) on Wednesday night at Toyota Center. It’s part two of a home-and-home series between the clubs.

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research for the Rockets-Clippers rematch, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Central and can be seen via AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in Houston markets) or on NBA League Pass.

For the Rockets, it will be their first time facing former teammate John Wall since Houston bought out his contract during the 2022 offseason. Wall did not play in Monday’s game due to long-term injury management considerations on the second night of a back-to-back.

The good news for Houston is the Clippers should again be short-handed. Superstar forward Kawhi Leonard (right knee injury management) remains out for Wednesday’s game, as is fellow forward Robert Covington (health and safety protocol).

As for the Rockets, they’re coming off a winless four-game road trip and hoping that home cooking can help stop their slide. Jae’Sean Tate (right ankle soreness) is again expected to be sidelined, which should lead to more minutes for KJ Martin (23 points, 52.9% FG in 29 minutes on Monday) and rookie forward Tari Eason.

Rockets at Clippers injury report:

  • Rockets: Jae’Sean Tate out (right ankle soreness), TyTy Washington out (left knee sprain), Bruno Fernando out (left knee soreness)
  • Clippers: Kawhi Leonard out (right knee injury management), Robert Covington out (health and safety protocols)

Advice and prediction

The Rockets were extremely competitive in Los Angeles on Monday, even with Jalen Green shooting terribly (23.5%) and Paul George blistering hot (57.7%) for the Clippers. If those numbers revert closer to each player’s season-long averages, this should be a prime opportunity for the Rockets to end their losing streak and pick up a second win of the 2022-23 regular season.

Prediction: Rockets 111, Clippers 108
