Climate protesters to 'swarm' Bristol city centre streets

Climate protesters are set to 'swarm' streets in Bristol city centre this weekend. The activists plan to cause disruption in the centre from 12pm on Saturday, June 18 as part of an ongoing campaign for the government to take action on the climate crisis.

The protestors, who will gather at Queens Square, are calling for free public transport for young people. Previous 'swarms' have seen multiple streets in the city centre blockaded by activists over the course of an afternoon.

In a post on Instagram, Bristol Youth Strike 4 Climate wrote: "Join us swarming the streets of Bristol City Centre as we support XR Youth's campaign launch demanding free public transport for young people.

"It's going to be an incredible action, come along even if you've never done anything with us before and bring your mates! There will be a social afterwards with some food and drinks!"
