Cliftonville defender Conor McDermott will be among the key speakers at an event focusing on addiction.
McDermott will join All-Ireland winner Oisin McConville and former Irish League footballer Sean Friars for the special event being held at St Cecilia's College in Derry on Wednesday night, January 19.
Entitled 'Addiction - An Honest Conversation', all three will share their own personal stories in front of gathered guests, and how they overcame their own demons to help inspire others.
McDermott and former Armagh captain McConville have previously opened up on the gambling addictions that gripped their lives, while ex-Liverpool Academy defender Friars' has battled with alcoholism and addiction to prescription drugs and gambling.
All three have been pro-active in speaking about their own personal journeys, in a bid to help others who are struggling.
McConville is a trained counsellor who gives talks all over Ireland about mental health, while Friars has worked with people afflicted by addiction issues and homelessness.
Former Derry City defender McDermott recently offered a raw and candid insight into his rehabilitation from a serious gambling addiction.
McDermott said on Twitter: "Looking forward to this tonight.
"Opportunity for people to hear me and the lads stories. Hopefully we can help anyone struggling to find the strength to change their life and find happiness."
'Addiction: An Honest Conversation' - which will be compered by Raymond McCartney - is being held at St Cecilia's College from 7-9pm on Wednesday night, January 19.
The event is free to attend but booking and tickets are required to attend. Tickets can be collected at The Old Library Trust or anyone interested can contact Julie White at 028 7137 3870 or email julie@olt.ie
