A Clifton man 'puffed out his chest' and randomly punched a pub-goer who had just learned to walk again after a stroke. 'Nasty' Lee Wilson attacked a man at a pub in St James's Street and hit him with such force he was hospitalised again.
The incident happened at around 8.50pm on May 14 this year. Wilson, 41, of Meadowvale Crescent in Clifton, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, August 17 where he was jailed for 10 months having been convicted of grievous bodily harm without intent.
The victim had only recently learned to walk again after months of rehabilitation and recovery from a stroke. The attack was unprovoked and Wilson attacked the man while he was seated.

Detective Constable Rory Greer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty and completely unprovoked attack on a victim who was having a quiet drink with friends.
“The victim’s recovery from a stroke was put at risk by this violent assault and we were determined to get justice for him.”
Witnesses said he had been acting aggressively, ‘puffing out his chest’ and seeking a fight. The victim was left slumped in his seat, unable to stand up or move parts of his body before he was helped by bar staff and then taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Centre.
He is now recovering well from his injuries. DC Greer added: “This type of violence that has absolutely no place in our society, so we’re pleased to see Wilson has been punished for his actions.
“Nottinghamshire Police has a zero-tolerance approach to all incidents of violence.
“This case should serve as a warning to other people that we take these offences extremely seriously and will not tolerate this kind of violence in our communities.”
