A major new fundraiser for a Cleland playgroup has been declared a huge success.
Teeny Tiny Totz was set up by a group of mums who were frustrated at having a lack of similar facilities in the village earlier this year.
And the group’s first big fundraising night, held in Cleland’s Delaney’s Bar, raised a whopping £2000 which will be well spent.
Shelley Gallacher, who helped get the toddler group set up, was delighted with the response from the community.
She said: “It was a real success. We were blown away by the response that we got.
“The local support we have had has been outstanding and we are so grateful for it.
“We managed to raise a total of £1914 but Delaneys Bar had called us and kindly gave us the rest of the money to make it up to £2000.
“From our local dessert shop Poppin supplying free slushies for our event for over 80 people, to the barbers supplying raffle prizes, to parents attending and handing raffle prizes without them none of this could have been a success.
“I would also would like to personally thank Josh Clifford for his outstanding entertainment.”
The money raised will be put to good use with two major events planned for the kids and their families.
Shelley added: “We are overwhelmed at the support and I’m so grateful the money raised will pay for the buses for the community trip we have organised where we will have 127 people attending Blair Drummond Safari Park.
“We also have decided to organise a fun day for the kids of the community at Cleland community centre on July 20.”
The toddler group runs every Wednesday and Thursday at Cleland senior citizens' centre from 10am to noon.
