Clear Illan Meslier verdict delivered as Leeds United told what to do amid Joel Robles pressure

Leeds United supporters have called on manager Javi Gracia to drop Illan Meslier for this week's crucial double-header of Premier League games. The Whites host Leicester City on Tuesday evening in one of the most important games at Elland Road since winning promotion to the Premier League, before then travelling to Bournemouth on Sunday as they attempt to pick up precious points in their relegation fight.

After much criticism for his performances of late, in particular his errors in the defeat to Fulham at the weekend, Meslier is under increased pressure to keep his place in goal. The shot-stopper has not missed a league game all season and has been an ever-present for both Gracia and Jesse Marsch before him.

However, that could be set to change this week with Meslier's position the source of much speculation. For the supporters who took part in our poll on LeedsLive, there was little doubt over what should happen.

A massive 78 per cent of Leeds supporters who answered our poll called for a change in goal this week with Joel Robles picking up over three-quarters of the vote when asked who should play in goal against Leicester, Robles or Meslier. With only 22 per cent of Leeds supporters polled wanting to see Meslier stay in goal, it shows the feeling around a goalkeeper who the fans no doubt still back, but feel needs to come out of the firing line and find his confidence again.

Robles is yet to play a first-team game for the Whites following his arrival from Real Betis in the summer. The 32-year-old featured in the EFL Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the FA Cup draw at Cardiff City, as well as a Football League Trophy appearance for the under-21s at Bolton.
